Branding and Packaging design for a modern English tea room that compares dining to the english monarchy.
Sovereigntea is a tea room with a menu inspired by the food and drinks served during the first tea parties hosted by Queen Victoria in the late 1840’s to provide guests with a traditional and authentic experience. The restaurant caters to sophisticated lords and ladies in a urban setting, bringing a modern visual influence to the aesthetic of the brand. The challenge for designing this brand was to combine visual elements of the ornate royal English aesthetic with a modern twist in order for the identity to be effective for its target audience. All menu items are British sweets and savouries, named after historically significant events and people in the lives of each queen. I specifically chose Queen Victoria, Queen Elizbeth I and Mary Queen of Scots, as they were powerful and significant women in their respective time periods. Sovereigntea combines elements of British history and tradition with vector illustrations in order to cater to a modern urban atmosphere.
